About two weeks ago, Samsung finally announced the features we can expect with One UI 8 Watch and dropped hints about when the beta program would kick off. Since then, there have been quite a few developments. One of which is that the One UI 8 Watch beta now seems just around the corner.

One UI 8 Watch won’t bring Vascular Load and Antioxidant to older Galaxy Watches

Separately, we also highlighted all the new features you’ll find in One UI 8 Watch. However, it turns out not every upcoming feature will work on the Galaxy Watch 7 or earlier models. We’re specifically talking about Vascular Load and Antioxidant Index, which are two of the standout features heading to One UI 8 Watch.

As you probably know, factors like smoking, excessive stress, poor sleep, and sun damage can accelerate cell damage. Antioxidants, which we get from colorful fruits and veggies, help combat this harm. Soon, the Galaxy Watch will feature an Antioxidant Index that scans your skin using light to reveal your antioxidant levels.

Now, about Vascular Load, it measures how hard your blood vessels are working, especially during sleep. If your levels don’t drop at night like they should, that could be a red flag. The Galaxy Watch uses this information, combined with your exercise and stress data, to offer tips for better heart health and smarter lifestyle choices.

In the fine print, Samsung notes that Vascular Load and Antioxidant Index will require a Galaxy Watch Ultra or newer. In other words, these One UI 8 Watch features won’t be available on Galaxy Watch 7 or earlier. Instead, they will be running on the Galaxy Watch 8, Watch 8 Classic, and Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025). These upcoming Galaxy watches will come with One UI 8 Watch right out of the box.
