There’s disruption ahead for drivers travelling on the M4 from this weekend as resurfacing work are carried out. People who use the road in Cardiff will be affected by the disruption – which will continue into next mooth.
The works will take place at M4 westbound from junction 30 Cardiff Gate to junction 32 Coryton. The road will be closed, with diversions in place, from 8pm until 6am.
The works began on June 24 and will continue until July 15.
Elsewhere, between junctions 37 and 38 near Pyle, major roadworks are to be carried out to ensure the safety and long-term resilience of the motorway.
The works will take place for six months and began on Monday, June 9.
The work involves refurbishment to five bridges on this stretch of the M4.
It is being described as “essential to maintain safety and prevent deterioration of the road.”
The motorway is remaining open with two running lanes in both directions for the duration of the works.
Closures are limited to overnight.
Temporary speed limits are being implemented to ensure driver and worker safety.
In England, there’s going to be carriageway and lane closures for resurfacing work at M4 eastbound junction 13 to 12 from June 30 until July 1.
The works will be carried out between 9pm and 6am.
And there’s going to be an exit slip road closure at M4 eastbound junction 10 from June 30 until July 1.
The works will be carried out from 11pm until 6am.
