AC Milan are looking for a new centre-forward, and Aleksandr Mitrovic may end up being the chosen one for various reasons.
After countless media reports about the desire to sign a new striker, Igli Tare confirmed in a press conference that the plan is to give Massimiliano Allegri a top number nine, with different characteristics to Santiago Gimenez.
In fact, the new sporting director even went as far as to say that they are looking for a centre-forward with characteristics very similar to Olivier Giroud (more physical, and who spends time in the penalty box) but who above all scores lots of goals.
Mitrovic the only name?
As Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) report this morning, several big names have been linked to Milan in the past few days like Viktor Gyokeres, Mateo Retegui and Serhou Guirassy. However, all of them would command a huge transfer fee.

For this reason, the trail that leads to Mitrovic is still very much alive. He is one of the many stars of Al-Hilal who – unlike his colleagues – has a much more affordable price tag (€20m).
The problem could be his salary, given that the Serbian earns €25m net per season, but there will be time to work on this aspect, especially if the player pushes to return to Europe.
