Fire crews were sent to a fire in the centre of Bristol last night. Its reported a shipping container was on fire which saw smoke billowing down Harbourside near Broad Quay.
The incident was called into Avon Fire and Rescue Service at 11pm and was extinguished by 11.35pm. The fire has been deemed accidental.
Avon Fire and Rescue Service area manager, Matt Osbourne said: “Avon and Somerset Rescue Service were called the the Harbourside near Broad Quay in the centre of Bristol to reports of a shipping container being on fire.
“Three fire engine, from Temple, Bedminster and Southmead were sent to the incident. Fire crews used breathing apparatus to protect themselves and hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.
“The call to Avon Fire and rescue Service about the fire was received at 11.02pm and the stop time recorded at 11.35pm.
“The cause of fire has been determined as accidental.”
