Dusan Vlahovic has sent former Man United star Paul Pogba a new message on social media following his move to Ligue 1 outfit Monaco.

Pogba, 32, is set to return to football at the top level and has signed a two-year deal with the Principality club off the back of a failed doping test in 2023.

The World Cup winner has not played since failing that test and had been free to find a club since March after his initial four-year ban was reduced to 30 months on appeal.

Following emotional scenes after he put pen to paper, he has received messages from a number of his former teammates who have moved quickly to wish him luck.

Vlahovic is the latest among these, having linked up with Pogba in Turin, amid ongoing speculation about his own future in the summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, former United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider in December that Man United will rival Arsenal to sign Vlahovic as their search for a new striker is ongoing.

The 25-year-old could finally make the move to the Premier League this summer after falling out of favour at Juventus, with Ruben Amorim’s side firmly in the race.

Meanwhile, Pogba teased at a return to Man United in March, leading fans to call for him to be re-signed following two previous spells at Old Trafford.

Taking to Instagram after the Frenchman put pen to paper with Monaco, the Juventus striker shared: “Pogback” – echoing the announcement of his move to United in 2016.

Amorim is still aiming to add a new centre-forward to his squad this summer following the signing of Matheus Cunha and efforts to land Bryan Mbeumo.

Brown told Football Insider on 21 June that Man United will move on from Viktor Gyokeres and assess other targets after he made his desire to join Arsenal clear.

Football Insider revealed on 13 June that Gyokeres is the dream target for Man United and have been working hard to reach an agreement over the move.

However, there is now an acceptance that the striker would prefer to join Arsenal despite his relationship with Amorim and they will switch their focus elsewhere.
