Disruption to train journeys in Newport and Valleys

This engineering work will take place early in the morning and late at night, and a replacement bus service will run.

Monday 30 June – Thursday 3 July.

Amended services are running between Cardiff Central and Ebbw Vale town between Monday 30 June to Thursday 3 July. 

Engineering work is taking place between Cardiff Central and Ebbw Vale Town, closing all lines overnight from Monday evening until Friday morning.

As a result, the following trains will be replaced by buses between Cardiff Central / Newport and Ebbw Vale Town:

• The 21:11 Maesteg to Ebbw Vale Town service
• The 22:07 Maesteg to Ebbw Vale Town service
• The 23:13 Ebbw Vale Town to Cardiff Central service

Transport for Wales advises those travelling to plan journeys prior to leaving using the National Rail Enquiries Journey Planner. 

They also advise that replacement vehicles may be busier than usual, and to allow extra time for your journey.
