Edinburgh fire crews raced to the scene of a blaze near a busy Granton road on Sunday, June 29.

Two appliances were in attendance at a fire on West Shore Road at around 8:15pm as black smoke could be seen billowing into the sky.

It is not currently known where on the road the fire took place but the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) has confirmed that the incident is an open area fire.

A SFRS spokesperson said: “We are currently in attendance at an open area fire. We were alerted to this at 8:15pm.

“We’ve got one appliance in attendance and another on route.”
