NEW LONDON, CT. (WFSB) – Three people were stabbed after a disturbance on Ocean Beach in New London.
Police say that at around 5:35 p.m., units responded to the area on a report of an active physical disturbance and a stabbing.
“All of a sudden we see over there a bunch of people fist fighting. We thought it was just a regular fight,” said Mary Kambolli, an eyewitness.
Her and her father Andrea got more concerned when they saw a man with a bloody leg and police rushing over.
“We realized that two people got stabbed. They could not breathe. The one that was here they were trying to wrap around his leg with bandages and stuff. He started running escaping. The police then had to go chase him down,” continued Mary.
Three men with stab wounds were found by police.
One man sustained serious injuries while the other two victims sustained non-life threatening injuries. They were transported to the hospital for treatment.
Police say that the incident doesn’t appear to be a random act.
An investigation is active.
