Many Glastonbury fans were left saying the same thing as The Prodigy electrified the Other stage with their headline act, while Olivia Rodrigo took to the Pyramid Stage, with 200,000 festival-goers descending upon Worthy Farm on the BBC. Originating from Braintree in Essex, The Prodigy are often hailed as one of the titans of electronic music, boasting an impressive 25 million records sold globally.

Their show-stopping performance marked The Prodigy’s first Glastonbury appearance since the tragic passing of their frontman Keith Flint in 2019. The band debuted at the legendary festival in 1995 and last performed there in 2009. After a hiatus from touring, The Prodigy declared in March 2022 that they were hitting the road for a ten-date UK tour, later expanding their comeback with international gigs set for October 2022, reports the Manchester Evening News.

In addition, the group has teased fans with news of an expansive UK and Ireland Arena tour slated for 2026. During the performance, fans rushed to social media to praise the group, as one said: “The Prodigy has single handedly just saved #glastonbury2025”, as another agreed: “Well that was f**king awesome. Thank you the prodigy for the best Sunday night ever.”

A third chimed in: “Been to #Glasto once, watched it every year on @BBC and i cannot remember anyone with a performance as incredible as this. Prodigy showing the world how it’s done, it’s an assault on the senses and a musical masterpiece.”

Meanwhile, as Olivia Rodrigo, 22, became one of the youngest main stage headliners, second only to Billie Eilish, some Prodigy enthusiasts voiced their discontent.

On X (formerly known as Twitter), @NuukwanCh expressed dismay: “how prodigy not on the main stage”, and @liamgriffiths85 praised the band: “@the_prodigy Only been on 5 mins and already putting all the other Glasto headliners to shame, Pure class”.

One disgruntled fan wrote: “Prodigy should have been on the main stage, Olivia Rodrigo should have been relegated to this one!” Another suggested: “Here’s a thought, The Prodigy right now, headliners of main stage maybe? ? Swap old man Young for this awesome madness.”

Another festivalgoer, @gurminder, exclaimed: “Just an unbelievable set from @the_prodigy at #Glastonbury2025 should have been on the Pyramid Stage”.

Additionally, @TriciaUtd tweeted: “The Prodigy smashing Glastonbury! ! ! Wow! Should be closing on the Pyramid stage! !”.
