A gun has been found at a property in a Birmingham cul-de-sac with a man arrested on firearms offences.

West Midlands Police raided a private road – Meadow Close in Harborne, near Hagley Road on Sunday (June 29).

There officers found a gun, which was a converted black firing pistol, which had been hidden at the property, together with ammunition.

Alan Teague from Meadow Close has been charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition.

The 48-year-old is set to appear before city magistrates today.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “We’ve charged a man after recovering a gun and ammunition from a property in Harborne.

“We found a converted blank-firing pistol concealed within an address in Meadow Close yesterday (29 June).”

The statement continued: “A 48-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and ammunition.

“Alan Teague from Harborne has now been charged with the offences.

“He was remanded to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court today (30 June).”
