Arsenal fans are calling for the club to finalise a move for Hugo Ekitike following fresh reports on the striker’s future.

The Gunners are in the market for a new forward this summer after their struggles in front of goal once again cost them silverware, finishing second for the third consecutive season.

Kai Havertz’s season-ending injury in February left Mikel Arteta short of options, forcing midfielder Mikel Merino to fill in as a makeshift number nine during the run-in.

According to German outlet Bild, Eintracht Frankfurt star Ekitike is now being “seriously considered” by Arsenal as part of their summer transfer plans.

The report adds that if the Gunners fail to agree a deal for either Gyokeres or Sesko, Ekitike will become a “real attraction” in their pursuit of a new striker.

The Frenchman enjoyed a standout season in the Bundesliga, scoring 15 league goals to help Frankfurt secure a third-place finish and Champions League qualification.

His form has not gone unnoticed, with Football Insider revealing Manchester United are also monitoring Ekitike, though they are unlikely to move unless his £84million price tag drops.

Liverpool have similarly been linked, but any deal may depend on Darwin Nunez’s sale, potentially opening the door for Arsenal to make a move ahead of the Reds.
