Marc Guehi has fuelled rumours around his Crystal Palace future after sharing a picture of him with a club legend following a fresh update on Liverpool’s interest in his signature.

Palace enjoyed a terrific 2024/25 campaign under Oliver Glasner as they won the FA Cup for the first time in their history, and Guehi was a key part of their success from centre-back.

The England international has just reached the end of his fourth season at Selhurst Park, but could be on the move soon after Football Insider revealed back in February that both Liverpool and Arsenal were set to join the race to sign Guehi this summer.

He has been enjoying some downtime amid major rumours around his future in South London, however, and Palace supporters will feel relieved to have seen him link-up with a club legend as he prepares to make a huge decision on his future soon.

Anfield certainly looks like his most likely destination if he is to leave Palace this summer, and Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (1 July) that Liverpool are planning to offer winger Ben Doak in a player-plus-cash deal for Guehi, who is at the top of their centre-back targets list.

He remains a Palace player for now, however, and the 24-year-old took to Instagram stories on Monday (30 June) to share a picture of him and Palace legend Joel Ward, who recently left the Selhurst Park outfit after 13 years at the club.

Ward’s presence alongside Guehi will surely make Eagles supporters feel more relaxed about the likelihoof of an exit soon, as he is still clearly connected to the club and the 35-year-old may well have urged him to stay beyond this summer.

Football Insider verdict

Guehi’s impressive exploits at Palace have made him one of the most highly-rated, in-demand centre-backs in the Premier League, and a move to Liverpool will undoubtedly appeal after their recent title win.

With that said, the 24-year-old must be given assurances of ample playing time at Anfield if he is to make the move, especially with the potential to be a starter for England next summer at the World Cup in the USA.

Guehi’s Palace career record

Arne Slot’s centre-back options could soon be looking light, with Jarell Quansah set to join Bayer Leverkusen, while former scout Mick Brown recently told Football Insider that Joe Gomez is open to a move to West Ham.

Ibrahima Konate also recently rejected the Reds’ first new contract offer, and so if he leaves, then Guehi would surely be in line to be starter next to Virgil van Dijk, and he should only leave Palace if that is going to be the case.
