Budget hotel brand easyHotel is stepping up its plans to expand further in continental Europe by appointing Charley Le Peillet as director of development for France and Belgium.

Le Peillet has previously worked on large scale developments in cities such as Dubai and Paris during his career, including projects combining housing, offices, logistics and retail in France.

Gwenaëlle Pouy, easyHotel’s chief development officer and head of real estate, said: “Charley joins our team at a key moment. His dual technical and strategic expertise, combined with a genuine environmental awareness, will strengthen our presence in France and Belgium.

“This is an important step in our ambition to establish easyHotel as a major player in the low-carbon urban hotel industry.”

The company currently has four properties in France, including easyHotel Marseille Euromed, which opened last year, as well as a hotel in the Belgium capital Brussels. Another property at Ferney-Voltaire, located close to Geneva Airport near the France-Switzerland border, is due to open in 2027.

“The potential in France and Belgium is considerable, and we have all the cards in hand to accelerate our growth by offering more low-carbon, affordable hotels within city centres to as many people as possible,” added Le Peillet in a statement about his role.

EasyHotel’s current portfolio currently includes just under 50 hotels, including 20 properties in the UK and Ireland.
