Sheffield Wednesday fans have had a lot of negativity thrown their way over the last several months, but they have one thing to get excited about now.
After failing to pay wages, Sheffield Wednesday were hit with a three-window transfer ban last month.
The Owls were then hit with a double embargo by the EFL, meaning that the Yorkshire outfit must ‘settle up with the Owls squad, as well as HMRC, before the embargo is lifted’.
To add further fuel to the fire, Danny Rohl has told players he will leave the club this summer.
We understand that some Sheffield Wednesday players could terminate their contracts as a result of the ongoing financial problems, while a number of players became free agents on July 1.
But news coming out of Hillsborough this week has finally given supporters something to cheer about.

A natural centre-forward, Grainger has been impressing at youth level with Wales for some time.
He made his U15 debut back in 2023 and has since gone on to score five in eight for his country’s U17 team.
