Accor, one of the leading forces in the international hotel industry, continues its impressive growth in Spain, surpassing 100 hotels and confirming its strategic goal of expansion across the entire hospitality market. This important milestone is accompanied by a series of new arrivals that strengthen its portfolio in luxury, lifestyle, and economy categories.
The opening of ibis Styles Madrid Airport Valdebebas, the largest ibis in Iberia, marks the completion of 100 hotels. Located opposite Madrid International Airport, it features 260 rooms, a rooftop pool, and a lounge with city views. Inspired by “Alice in Wonderland”, it offers a playful yet functional accommodation experience.
Karelle Lamouche, Accor COO for Europe and North Africa, said: “This milestone demonstrates Accor’s commitment to long-term growth in Spain – a market with huge potential, where opportunities are not limited to popular destinations but also to emerging regions.”
Among the most impressive new openings is the Fairmont La Hacienda Costa del Sol in Cádiz. The 153-room, 47-villa luxury resort combines Andalusian tradition with modern aesthetics and unobstructed views of the Mediterranean.
In Barcelona, the SLS Barcelona, which brings the brand to Europe for the first time, stands out with 471 rooms, six dining options, three swimming pools and a ballroom, emphasizing the luxury experience by the sea.
The new Novotel Valencia Lavant, near the Palacio de Congresos, strengthens Accor’s momentum in Valencia. With 370 rooms, a spectacular rooftop pool and the Papúa Valencia restaurant, it combines contemporary design with amenities for business and leisure travelers.
In northern Spain, the ibis Styles Santander draws inspiration from the natural landscape and cultural identity of the region, while in Madrid, the ibis budget Albasanz offers affordable accommodation solutions, and the ibis Madrid Norte Las Tablas, opening in July, will meet the needs of professionals in the north of the city.
Special mention deserves greet Alicante, the first in Spain under the greet brand, expected in late 2025, and will highlight the concept of “circular hospitality” with recycled materials and sustainable practices.
Overall, Accor’s portfolio in Spain includes other strong brands, such as Mercure, Pullman, Sofitel, as well as modern lifestyle names from Ennismore, such as SO/, The Hoxton, Hyde, and Mondrian. Through the ALL Accor platform, guests have access to a booking and rewards system that enhances the accommodation experience and strengthens their relationship with the brand.
