Global icons Metallica are among the first of 200,000 visitors expected to arrive in Birmingham ahead of the city’s ‘Super Weekend’.
The heavy metal heroes posed for photographs in front of Birmingham’s Black Sabbath tourist spots as they gear up to perform at Ozzy Osbourne’s final gig.
Frontman James Hetfield perched between Ozzy Osbourne and Tony Iommi’s images on Black Sabbath Bench while bassist Robert Trujillo stopped for a snap at the new mural on Navigation Street.

Ozzy will reunite with Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward for the Back To The Beginning concert, scheduled to take place at Villa Park Stadium on Saturday, July 5.
Metallica will join a bumper lineup of bands and artists playing at the Aston show, one of five big events taking place on what is being referred to as Super Weekend.
Black Sabbath and their families are already in Birmingham, attending a special ceremony on Saturday, June 28 when the four members were awarded Freedom of the City by the Lord Mayor.
They also made a beeline for the mural on Navigation Street, stopping to sign their names over Mr Murals’ art.
The huge gig isn’t the only thing drawing visitors to town this weekend.

The England Vs India test match begins at Edgbaston today, culminating in a final day on Sunday, July 6.
Meanwhile, at the Utilita Arena, the city’s own Jeff Lynne will be performing his last concerts on Saturday and Sunday, July 5 and 6.
Jeff Lynne’s ELO has two arena dates to mark the final performances in Birmingham, the first date of which is completely sold out.
As well as sport and music, the Colmore Food Festival takes place on Friday, July 4 and Saturday, July 5 and some 30,000 people are expected to eat and drink from some of the city’s most popular hospitality spots, including Michelin-starred Adams.
