A number of well-known comedians will take to the stage at the Ulster Hall in Belfast this October in support of integrated education in Northern Ireland.

Tim McGarry, Wendy Wason and Colin Murphy are among the headline acts confirmed for Stand-Up for Integrated Education, a one-night comedy fundraiser organised by the Integrated Education Fund (IEF). The event takes place on Thursday, October 16 and runs from 8.00pm to 10.15pm.

The night will be hosted by Colin Murphy, familiar to audiences from his long-running appearances on BBC’s The Blame Game and RTÉ’s The Panel.

Joining him on the bill is Tim McGarry, best known for his role in the long-running sitcom Give My Head Peace and for co-hosting The Long and the Short of It on BBC Radio Ulster and BBC Northern Ireland. McGarry said he was “delighted to be back in the Ulster Hall” and encouraged people to attend.

Scottish comedian Wendy Wason, who has appeared in The IT Crowd, Coupling, and Broken News, is also set to perform. She described performing in Belfast as “a real joy” and said there was a shared spirit between Scots and Northern Irish audiences.

The comedians will be joined on the night by a special guest.

The show is the latest in a series of IEF comedy nights, which regularly sell out. Proceeds from the event will go towards the charity’s work supporting integrated schools and promoting integrated education across the region.

Tickets are priced at £27.50 plus booking fee and are available via ulsterhall.co.uk. The event is supported by the McCall Foundation.
