A police probe has been launched after a woman was found dead at a busy Glasgow shopping centre on Wednesday morning.
Emergency services raced to Shawlands Arcade on Kilmarnock Road, in the southside of the city, at around 9.55am on July 2, after receiving reports of a death.
The 53-year-old was discovered inside a premises within the building. The shopping centre remained open while crews were on scene.
Her death is being treated as unexplained, but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances at this stage.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.55am on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, officers were made aware of the death of a 53-year-old woman at a premises at Shawlands Arcade in Glasgow.
“The death is being treated as unexplained but there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”

In an unrelated incident, police have named a 35-year-old man who was found dead in a Glasgow flat last weekend.
Johnson Ewere died at a property on Charles Street, in the Royston area, at around 10.25pm on Sunday, June 29.
A 35-year-old woman has since been arrested in connection with his death. Police say their enquiries are ongoing.
A large number of officers and police vehicles were seen in the area as cops probed the death in the high rise. A communal bin area was also taped off.
