One of the UK’s most compelling and enduring rock and soul artists, Andrew Roachford MBE, has been announced as the headline act at this year’s Child of Wales Awards. With ten studio albums to his name and songwriting credits for legends including Michael Jackson and Chaka Khan, Roachford’s musical legacy continues to grow.

In 2025, Roachford is doing what he loves most – performing live. With nearly 100 shows scheduled, he kicked off the year touring South Africa with powerhouse supergroup Mike + the Mechanics, followed by a sold-out UK and Germany tour that drew rave reviews. He now heads to Australia and New Zealand for his own headline tour.

Roachford and his band will perform at the Child of Wales Awards, taking place at Swansea Arena on Friday 12 September.

The awards honour the inspirational achievements of young people from across Wales, while raising vital funds for children’s charities supporting those in need throughout the country.

Andrew Roachford MBE, said:

“I’m honoured to perform at an event that shines a light on such a brave group of children and young people in Wales. They face challenges every day, yet never give up. It’s going to be a very special evening, full of inspiring people and powerful stories – I’m really looking forward to being a part of it.”

Founder of the Child of Wales Awards, Blanche Sainsbury, said:

“We’re absolutely thrilled that Roachford is joining us this year. The winners, their families, and the charities that support them are in for a night to remember. He’s one of my all-time favourite artists, and I know our guests are in for a real treat.”
