Coral Wilkinson, is a former ACAT (Aged Care Assessment Team) assessor who wrote “My Parents are Aging what the heck do I do?” a book on navigating the aged care system. Yet when caring for her elderly parents and teenage children, the stress of the care squeeze left her with a lifelong, stress-induced medical condition.
Ms Wilkinson spoke to Brett Worthington on Mornings about dealing with the emotional and financial stress of navigating a complex system for access to care, when to ask for help, grief, loss of identity and first steps to take when you know you need help.
