A sexual predator from Coventry has been convicted of raping a young boy.

Evil Jonathan Philp, 46, admitted rape and other sexual offences after his victim reported the abuse to police.

The victim’s age was not disclosed by West Midlands Police.

Philp, of The Monks Path, Coventry, pleaded guilty to the offences at Birmingham Crown Court on Monday, June 30.

He was remanded in custody until sentencing later this year.

West Midlands Police issued a statement this morning on how victims of sexual assault can seek help.

It said: “We know that reporting rape, sexual assault or another sexual crime, like indecent exposure or up-skirting, can be daunting.

“We’re here to support you whether you’re ready to report it to us or if you’d prefer to talk to someone else.

“If you want to talk it through before deciding whether to report to us, you can talk to a Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC).

“You can also talk to an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor service (ISVA) or another support service.”
