Jake Paul’s callouts of boxing stars from lightweight to heavyweight have drawn the ire of his old rival Tyson Fury.
Back in 2023, Paul took on Tyson’s younger brother Tommy Fury to whom he lost a split decision in his sole defeat to date. Since then a rematch has been on the cards but it seems that a deal has been hard to reach for the Brit, who has fought just twice in the years after the fight.
The feud has maintained between the Pauls and the Furys, even though Tommy’s dad John Fury and even Tyson himself have been relatively complimentary of Jake. However, after a series of callouts from the social media star, the elder Fury has taken aim at his old family rival.
Tyson Fury slams Jake Paul for bizarre set of callouts
Following his win on Saturday night over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, Jake Paul took to the microphone and called out five names including two cruiserweight world champions. One pick was lightweight star Gervonta Davis, and in the same breath he was going for former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.
This baffled Tyson Fury, who asked media at the IBA Pro Show: “How could you call out Anthony Joshua and Gervonta Davis? It’s like f—ing that end of the scale and this end of the scale! I’m not sure how that works.”
Paul is known for fighting much smaller fighters, but 5’5″ Davis who last weighed in under 134lb would be a different level. In the same speech, however, he was calling to fight 6’6″ heavyweight Joshua who most recently tipped the scales over 252lb.
Jake Paul’s response to private Tyson Fury text revealed
During the same interview, Fury claimed that he had taken matters into his own hands in order to make the rematch happen for his brother. He claims to have texted Paul privately, demanding that the bout happen.
“I hoped they would,” he told Seconds Out of a potential rematch. “I’ve even texted Jake Paul to say ‘what’s going on do you want to get it on with Tommy and make the fight happen. I just think there’s a lot of egos involved in boxing.

“It’s a lot of ‘he said this, she said that, I want this, I want that’. When things like that happen, it’s difficult to make fights as you’ve seen over the years.”
Paul’s business partner and Most Valuable Promotions co-founder Nakisa Bidarian has confirmed that Fury’s story is true. But he says that Paul had a quick response, tweeting: “I can confirm he did text Jake and say you and Tommy need the rematch.
“I can also confirm Jake responded that said he offered Tommy $5 million and he’s not getting that money from anyone else.”
