Huawei is rolling out a new smartwatch update: software version 4.1.0.16 (C00M05). This HarmonyOS 5.1 release brings several new features to the Huawei Watch D2, including a new sleep-related heart rate variability (HRV) metric. While this update is currently on the way to users in China, it is expected to be rolled out globally in the future.

Huawei has announced software version 4.1.0.16 (C00M05) for the Watch D2 smartwatch. This is the first HarmonyOS 5.1 update for this wearable.

The release notes for software version 4.1.0.16 indicate that there is a new star ring app display for this wearable; this joins the existing Grid and Lists modes. There are also new customizable preset watch faces, with names like ‘Fashion Profile’ and ‘Universal Module’. For Watch D2 users with a Huawei smartphone running HarmonyOS 4 and above, you can now view live information like flight status or food delivery status on your watch.

Health feature-wise, the new health summary app can be used to track trends in your health metrics, such as heart rate and stress levels, with accompanying analysis. Plus, the Watch D2 gains a sleep average HRV metric, which is said to help users understand their level of fatigue or stress. The full release notes are listed on the Huawei Forum.

It appears that the Huawei software version 4.1.0.16 (C00M05) will first roll out in China for users of the Watch D2 smartwatch. When this update will be released to users globally remains to be seen.
