Southampton’s Tyler Dibling has a very interesting history with Chelsea, and they’ve now been mentioned together again in fresh transfer speculation.

Chelsea fans can’t look away this summer because the transfer rumours regarding potential incomings won’t slow down.

Southampton youngster Tyler Dibling, 19, is now linked with a potential move to Stamford Bridge for the second time in his career.

Dibling joined Chelsea from Southampton in the 2022 summer as he linked up with the Blues academy. The English youngster actually moved back to St Mary’s only a couple of months later due to homesickness, though.

Reports back in January claimed that Chelsea were monitoring Southampton star Dibling, who’s now got a relegation on his CV after the club’s drop from the Premier League.

The latest speculation explains that the Blues are now looking at the teenage attacker again.

According to FootballTransfers, Chelsea have reopened talks with representatives of Dibling.

It is explained that the Blues are considering a fresh move for the left-footed playmaker after his short-lived spell with them a few years ago. Apparently, the Saints talent is being tracked by top sides in the Premier League and across Europe.

The report explains that Dibling is described as “mentally stronger” than his previous stint at Chelsea, so he could perform a major U-turn by stepping out of his comfort zone to move elsewhere.

FootballTransfers states that Southampton are demanding upwards of €65m (£55m), with some internal valuations north of €115m (£100m). Southampton are thought to be open to a move if their valuation is met amid interest from Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester United, Aston Villa and RB Leipzig.

They add that Chelsea are considering whether to push forward with a formal offer or wait until later in the window.

Without a doubt, Dibling is an extremely talented youngster who’s too good to be in the Championship next season with Southampton.

While we’re not sure if there’s room for him in Chelsea’s squad, there’s no denying he’s got huge potential. The versatile attacker, who can shine as a No.10 or a right-winger, needs to be playing regular first-team football.

Back in December 2024, Dion Dublin compared Dibling to Cole Palmer. The BBC pundit said: “I don’t want to put any pressure on him, but he plays his game like Cole Palmer, doesn’t he? He plays free and easy, and he gets himself into good positions, rolls players and takes the ball well.”
