PAULDING, Ohio (WFFT) — Paulding Putnam Electric Cooperative is preparing to launch a new era of connectivity — and members will get a first look during its annual Member Appreciation Day on Saturday, July 12.
The event, held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at co-op headquarters at 401 McDonald Pike in Paulding, will showcase the cooperative’s new branding and unveil upcoming fiber internet packages. Though sign-ups for the high-speed service aren’t open yet, members can express interest by filling out a form at PPEC.coop.
The new fiber internet initiative comes as the co-op celebrates its 90th anniversary. Leaders say it’s a major step forward in delivering modern infrastructure to underserved rural areas in Ohio and Indiana.
“We’re honoring our rich history while building a future of greater connection,” the co-op said in a statement.
Fiber packages are expected to bring reliable high-speed internet to members across Paulding, Putnam, Defiance, Van Wert, and Allen counties in Ohio, as well as Adams and Allen counties in Indiana.
The free event is open to Paulding Putnam members and their immediate families. In addition to updates on internet and branding, the celebration includes tethered hot air balloon rides (weather permitting), a zip line, bounce houses, face painting, stilt walkers, live lineman demonstrations, and a complimentary lunch buffet.
Members are asked to bring the registration card found on the back of their July issue of Ohio Cooperative Living or Indiana Connection to reduce check-in times.
For questions, members can call (800) 686-2357 or visit the event page on Facebook.
Paulding Putnam Electric Cooperative has served rural communities since 1935 and currently powers nearly 14,000 homes and businesses.
