A picturesque piece of South Gloucestershire countryside just eight miles from Bristol is up for sale. The parcel of land is set alongside the beautiful banks of the River Frome near the village of Frampton Cottrell, in an area known locally as Black Rocks.

Featuring cherry, plum and apple trees, access to running water and space to camp, the land could be perfect for nature lovers looking for a weekend escape.

The 0.65 acre riverside paradise is for sale with a guide price of £10,000 through auctioneers Hollis Morgan. With the opportunity to buy green space dwindling as urban centres expand, Hollis Morgan director Andrew Morgan MBE said there could be a bidding war.

“Green spaces are so desirable these days I anticipate keen bidding,” Mr Morgan said.

The land comes with riparian rights, meaning the purchaser will be able to enjoy access to the water and can use the river for fishing as long as they have a licence.

With woodland and access to a portion of a meadow also thrown into the equation, Mr Morgan said possible uses for the land would only be limited by the buyer’s imagination.

The successful bidder could even use the land for a camping staycation, with more and more people choosing to holiday within the UK this summer.

“This unique parcel of freehold land with grassy meadows, woodlands, fruit trees and a river with riparian rights completes this rural idyll,” Mr Morgan said.

“The opportunities are limitless, small hold farming, weekend projects, simply relaxing by the water or, for those of a dramatic nature, what a perfect setting for A Midsummer Night’s Dream?

“Why sit on a motorway whilst this peaceful gem awaits you?” The plot of land is also situated next to a popular footpath, making it the perfect place to unwind after a long countryside ramble.

The online auction for the land will take place at 5.30pm on Wednesday, July 23. Interested bidders must register by 4pm on Monday, July 21 via the Hollis Morgan website.
