An independent Italian eatery in inner-city Bristol is the city’s best restaurant, according to our readers.
Bianchis, along York Road, in Montpelier, has been crowned Bristol’s best restaurant by readers at BristolLive.
The Italian restaurant took the top spot after receiving a total of 1,185 votes, and was followed by Curry House on Bath Road, which had 874 votes.
Taking the third place was Pazzo on Whiteladies Road (107 votes), followed by Wilsons (78 votes) and Little Hollows (64 votes) – both being along Chandos Road.
Bianchis describes itself as an “explosion of Italian Heritage” and says its ethos is around “honest cooking”. It says on its website: “In other words, the ingredients we combine speak for themselves, each in their own voice”.
The restaurant is part of the Bianchis Group, which run several well-known restaurants across the city including Pazzo, Pasta Ripiena and Cotto.
Bianchis has a high Google rating, with an average rating of 4.7 after 320 reviews have been received.
A recent reviewer wrote: “Delicious food at all times! Fresh pasta with amazing flavors and textures.
“Always at least 2 vegetarian options. Of everything I think the dessert is what always mesmerizes me the most (and I’m not a dessert person everywhere)!
“Always on point, not too sweet, bold flavors. Staff are always friendly and I find the atmosphere super cozy.”
Another one said: “Cute Italian neighbourhood restaurant. Delicious food. Very attentive and friendly staff. The primi and secondi portions are sizeable.
“My only wish was that there was a non-chocolatey dessert option. Apart from that, everything was perfect.”
