A monster plunge on Whistlejacket for the Al Basti July Cup has seen his price plummet from 33-1 into as short as 7-1, and Aidan O’Brien is hoping for better luck than the colt enjoyed in the Commonwealth Cup.
Daylight never appeared for the son of No Nay Never at Royal Ascot, where he finished sixth behind surprise winner Time For Sandals.
The major market move for Whistlejacket may have been fuelled by the Racing Post’s Tom Segal who, fresh from a successful stint at Royal Ascot, put up the Ballydoyle sprinter at 25-1 in his ante-post Pricewise column last Tuesday.
