European Social Fund to boost inclusion initiatives

Minister of Social Cohesion and Family Domna Michailidou met on Friday with the European Commission’s director-general for employment, social affairs and inclusion, Mario Nava. 

The main topics of their meeting were the social inclusion of vulnerable groups, and the protection of children in need, people with disabilities, single-parent families and women, as well as creating a safety net for population groups affected by poverty and social exclusion. 

Michailidou underscored the need to remove social barriers and strengthen the participation of all citizens in the economic life of the country. 

Michailidou and Nava referred to the importance of the European Social Fund+ as a tool for financing social inclusion actions.
