Tyrhys Dolan has piqued the interest of many Championship clubs, including Bristol City, but one issue looms regarding a transfer of the free agent.
As the time clocked over to July, many eyes from Championship clubs soon go to the list of free agents they can bolster their options with.
At the top of many Championship clubs’ lists would be Tyrhys Dolan after his departure from Blackburn Rovers.
Dolan bagged seven goals and notched six assists for Rovers in the 2024/25 Championship campaign, a record that translates into him being a top player to snap up, especially on a free.
At the front of the pack is Bristol City, who have made an approach for Dolan. Gerhard Struber is keen to add attacking talent to his options; however, one issue currently stands in the way of the Robins.

As the 2025/26 Championship season looms, one of Struber’s priorities at Bristol City since taking over is adding flair and goals to his options, and ultimately, Tyrhys Dolan fits the bill.
Per Alan Nixon on Patreon, Bristol City are reportedly keen to bring Dolan to Ashton Gate.
However, potential issues arise with the former Blackburn Rovers star’s desires to play abroad, with the winger set for talks with clubs located in Greece and Turkey.
It would be expected that, based on the season that Dolan produced for Rovers, his standing could lead him to clubs involved in European competitions next season in either Turkey or Greece, which likely makes these two destinations more attractive for the 23-year-old and, as a result, a ‘problem’ for Bristol City and interested Championship clubs.

As well as Bristol City, many Championship clubs will be keeping tabs on Tyrhys Dolan and his whereabouts. After his barnstorming 2024/25 campaign, it could be argued that he would become a prominent member of the large majority of teams at this level, which makes him incredibly desirable.
His priority may lie with a move abroad, but a selection of Championship clubs will no doubt try to show their financial strength as a means of tempting Dolan in.
A litany of top Championship sides will not sit and let Dolan move elsewhere – it could be expected that a fight will ensue over the attacker’s signature.
