The west Cumbrian, who is the BKFC European heavyweight champion, will be involved in a gathering of champions this week.

The BKFC are staging a ‘champions summit’ and a ‘state of the promotion’ press conference at which big announcements about the sport are expected.

The event on Thursday will be hosted by BKFC co-owner McGregor and BKFC founder and CEO David Feldman.

Promoters say some “major announcements about upcoming events and fights” will be made, while McGregor will make a “groundbreaking, specific announcement regarding BKFC.”

They will do so amid a line-up of the sport’s top names – including Faulkner, who won the European title last November by defeating Dawid Oskar.

The 36-year-old undefeated Cumbrian will be among a host of champions to attend the event at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Hollywood.

Others due to appear include American fighters Mike Perry, Kai Stewart, Ben Rothwell and Dave Mundell.

British BKFC stars will also join Faulkner, including Gary Fox and Connor Tierney, the latter fresh from his successful UK welterweight title defence against Carlisle’s Danny Christie.

Faulkner’s presence among such figures confirms his status as one of the top fighters in the BKFC, with his next fight expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks.

The powerful west Cumbrian has won all three of his BKFC fights since 2022, defeating Daniel Robson and Rob Cunningham before taking on Oskar for the European title last autumn.

A ferocious contest in Newcastle saw Faulkner win by knockout in the second round.

It has been hinted that Faulkner’s next fight could be in Italy, but details are yet to be confirmed.

Speaking to No Bones Fight Talk recently, the Egremont fighter also said he plans to come down to cruiserweight for his next fight.
