Four cars have been torched near a Scots industrial unit.

Fire crews and police raced to the blazes on French Street in Renfrew at 11.35am on Sunday. The blazes are being treated as deliberate.

An investigation to trace those responsible remains ongoing. Images from the scene show a thick cloud of smoke spreading over the Renfrewshire town as emergency crews dealt with the incident.

Several fire engines were also pictured in attendance.

A statement from Police Scotland reads: “Around 11.35am on Sunday, 6 July, 2025, officers received a report of four vehicles on fire on French Street, Renfrew.

“The fires are being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing.”
