Search teams attending a Manchester canal have discovered a body.
Officers were seen in attendance at the Rochdale Canal in Miles Platting on Sunday evening (July 6).
Underwater divers joined the operation while a cordon was in place on Hulme Hall Lane, close to the canal, at around 8pm.
Greater Manchester Police says it was called out to reports of ‘possessions’ being found on the canal bank.

A search of the canal took place on Sunday evening, where officers discovered the body of a man.
The man is yet to be identified and enquiries are ongoing this morning (Monday).

His death is not currently believed to be suspicious, GMP says.
Forensic investigators were seen gathering evidence in bags on Hulme Hall Lane on Sunday night.

Multiple GMP vehicles were seen in the area, while people were asked to avoid the area while the cordon remained in place.
