A major A road will be closed for five nights for upgrade work to be carried out. The A432 Badminton Road in Nibley will be shut overnight from Monday, July 7.
South Gloucestershire Council said they be closing the road between Frog Lane and Nibley Lane, from 8pm to 6pm, to resurface the cycle lane.
In an update to drivers, the council said: “The A432 improvement works are progressing well and our next step is to carrying out surfacing works on the section of existing cycle track.
“We are upgrading the existing cycle lane with green asphalt to ensure it aligns with the improvements planned along the corridor.
“We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience whilst we work along the A432 corridor.
“To ensure the safety of road users and our workforce, a temporary road closure and diversion route will be in place during these hours.
“Due to the nature of the work, more noise than normal may be generated during these hours. However, we will try and keep any disruption to a minimum.”
A diversion for drivers and buses will be in place.
Diversion route
The council has issued a map to show how drivers can be diverted around the road closure:
Drivers will need to travel an almost five mile diversion route around Frampton Cotterell and Iron Acton to avoid the closure.
