EastEnders spoilers follow.
EastEnders’ Lauren Branning gets a blast from the past next week when her little brother Oscar shows up in Walford after eight years away.
The teen gets reacquainted with his family and wastes no time in ruffling some feathers in the Square, but does he have an ulterior motive for his return?
“Oscar is back, and he’s here to cause a stir,” begins our EastEnders insider. “He’s suspiciously eager to stick around in Walford, and it feels as though he’s not being completely straight with his loved ones…”
The drama begins when Lauren gets a mysterious phone call that leads her back to her younger sibling. She finds out where Oscar has been and learns the reason why he can’t return home – which is being kept under wraps for now.

Jack is also back in the Square after visiting his sister Suzy, and as he reunites with Denise and the kids, he is shocked to see that his nephew is back in town.
The likes of Peter and Ian have their doubts about Oscar, but he’s determined to convince Lauren to let him stay with her and resorts to emotional blackmail.
“Lauren is naturally cautious about Oscar, but she decides to let him move in with her for a while,” our source reveals. “She makes him promise to behave – but Oscar later gets a message that suggests there is a lot of trouble ahead.”

As the week continues, Oscar chats to Jack about his difficult relationship with his parents Max and Tanya – but it isn’t long before he hatches a plan to scam Ian. He fakes a fall in the chip shop and demands compensation, which amuses Stacey.
Oscar continues to cause chaos in Walford, but when his social worker witnesses his money-making scheme, there are big consequences.
After Jack steps in with some advice, mischievous Oscar gets a second chance when Lauren offers him a trial shift on the fruit and veg stall. Will this job opportunity give the teen the fresh start he needs?

However, when Oscar learns about his baby nephew Jimmy’s blindness, he has a change of heart and vows to stop messing around. Will Oscar decide to turn over a new leaf, or will the ghosts from his past catch up with him?
