Love Island’s Yasmin Broom has spilled the beans on her past as a girl band member.
The 26-year-old Manchester beauty is among the six bombshells set to shake things up in the Casa Amor villa.
Yas, however, is no stranger to the spotlight, having graced ITV’s The X Factor stage back in 2016.
She was part of Four of Diamonds with Caroline Alvares, Lauren Rammell, and Sophia Saffarian, who made it to the live shows of the popular singing contest.
Post-X Factor, the group inked a global record deal with EMI, marking them as the first girl band to do so since the iconic Spice Girls, reports OK!.
In Monday’s (July 7) Love Island episode, Yas opened up to Giorgio Russo about her musical journey, saying: “I spent a bit of time in London, like four years.

“Before I was a DJ I was a singer, in a grid band. We were on The X Factor. We came eighth place.”
Giorgio’s curiosity about their split led Yas to reveal: “Lockdown, cause we just couldn’t perform or anything.”
Fans were abuzz with Yas’ admission, taking to social media to express their astonishment.
On X, previously known as Twitter, one viewer exclaimed: “Just found out that this Casa Amor girl was on the X Factor in the girl group Four of Diamonds in 2016. I knew I’ve seen her face before.”
Another fan shared: “I used to love four of diamonds.”
A third chimed in: “FOUR OF DIAMONDS MENTION YES YAZ #loveislanduk #loveisland.”
A fourth social media user exclaimed: “She was in FOUR OF DIAMONDS ? ? ? #LoveIsland.”

After securing a record contract, Four of Diamonds launched their first single ‘Name On It’, collaborating with Afrobeats star Burna Boy, and continued to drop more hits like ‘Stupid Things’ with Saweetie and ‘Blind’.
The group had the chance to warm up crowds for Rita Ora during her UK arena tour in 2019 and also graced television screens on shows such as Blue Peter and Britain’s Got More Talent.
Between 2019 and 2020, they kept the momentum going by releasing additional music until they inked a fresh deal with Fascination, but they disbanded not long after.
Since the band’s dissolution, Yasmin has carved out a career as a DJ, lighting up numerous festivals throughout the UK, and even took to the stage at Manchester’s Parklife before jetting off to join the Love Island cast.
Love Island airs Sunday to Thursday on ITV2 and ITVX at 9pm
