A new restaurant is opening in the heart of the Baltic Triangle. Poke Superfood Bar is set to welcome customers through the doors of its Sefton Street venue, in what the owner is calling the “perfect place”.
The brand can already be found on Chapel Lane, Formby. However, over the weekend, the company announced the “exciting” new venture to its thousands of social media followers. Poke Superfood Bar prides itself on selling everything healthy, including salad and acai bowls, brunch, juices, smoothies, coffee and matcha. The venue also has vegan and gluten-free options.
Announcing the new venue on Instagram, owner Demi Whittle, wrote: “We’re so excited to share that we’re opening our second Poke shop right in the heart of the Baltic Triangle.
“One of the most popular areas in Liverpool and just a five-minute walk from the Albert Dock – it honestly feels like the perfect place for our next chapter. I won’t lie – this is the scariest decision I’ve ever made, but the moment I walked into this space, it felt like it was meant for us.

“From the landlord being a contractor I used to work with back when I was a QS, to the exact same chairs we have in our Formby shop left behind, to the concrete-style finishes that match our brand. It just felt like all the signs were there
“Before Formby opened, I was already dreaming of having a second location somewhere closer to where I grew up. Seeing it happen now feels incredibly special. Poke isn’t backed by billionaire investors or big names – it’s just me.
“So if you’ve supported us in any way, whether that’s grabbing a bowl, telling a friend, or simply cheering us on. Thank you. It means everything.” The team explained that they are looking for baristas, kitchen staff and runners to join the team at the new venue.
Horus Bar and Grill is found at Three Sefton Street in the Baltic Triangle
It comes after the former restaurant that occupied the space closed without saying a word. The Horus Bar and Grill was been found on Sefton Street for around the last year or so.
The venue prided itself on serving Egyptian food, with everything from kebabs to lamb chops and kofta on its menu. Stuffed grape leaves, mulukhiyah, and baba ghanoush rounded off the offerings.
The restaurant was a go-to for many in the Muslim community because of its halal meat option. However, Horus Bar and Grill remained shut for several weeks, with some of the interior furnishing being removed.
It was also listed as being permanently closed on Google. The ECHO reached out to the company for comment, but since the Horus Bar and Grill Instagram page also appears to have been deleted.
