Van der Poel bested in Rouen but stays in yellow as Vingegaard nabs third on the stage.
Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) outmuscled Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Deceuninck) and Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease a Bike) in the punchy finale of stage 4 of the Tour de France, taking his first win of this year’s race and the 100th pro victory of his career.
The stage to Rouen saw plenty of action in the closing kilometers as UAE and Visma whittled down the bunch on a series of short, steep ascents, and then Pogačar put in a surge on the final categorized climb that only Vingegaard could follow.
