Aldi has announced that a limited item which has been sold on a strict one-per-person limit is now completely out of stock ahead of the Oasis Manchester gigs.

Earlier this week, it was reported that the supermarket had only allowed shoppers to pick up their new limited-edition Supernova Champagne bottles, which was on sale for £14.95, on a one-per-person basis.

The special drink, named after the band’s popular single Champagne Supernova, was only available to buy at Aldi’s Bury New Road branch and was chosen for its prominent location next to Heaton Park.

Oasis will play five homecoming shows at the Prestwich park, starting this Friday (July 11) and continuing until July 20. It will be their first Manchester shows since Liam and Noel announced their split almost 16 years ago.

They started their Live ‘25 shows last weekend with two big shows in Cardiff. Held at the Principality Stadium, the gigs earned a number of five-star reviews and praise from fans who hailed it as the comeback they had all been waiting for.

With Oasis just days away from taking over Heaton Park, fans have clearly been snapping up the Aldi champagne despite its strict availability. The supermarket has now confirmed that it has completely sold out of the special drink.

Confirming its now out of stock, Aldi has told the Manchester Evening News today: “Our Supernova Champagne has been really popular with shoppers and has now sold out. As with all our limited-edition items – once they’re gone, they’re gone!”

The bottles had been created using Aldi’s award-winning Veuve Monsigny Champagne Brut and were first introduced in stores just two days ago (July 7).

Described by Aldi as a ‘unique and memorable way to raise a glass to this iconic moment in music history’, fans had even travelled from across the country to get their hands on the exclusive drink.

Oasis fan Jack Blake posted online this week: “I drove from London for the Champagne after I saw the post. I thought, I must try and get a bottle!”

Fans have also been tempted with a number of offers to coincide with Oasis’ big homecoming shows, with two top supermarkets even going as far as unveiling lasagne-themed specials, including freebies from Iceland and Asda, who have also created a 2ft wide Liam Gallagher lasagne for the occasion.

There’s also been a host of artworks and murals unveiled across the city, including a donated signed guitar from the Gallagher brothers, as well as a number of afterparties and events taking place this weekend.
