The spiritual home of heavy metal roared to life on Friday, July 4th, as Millennium Point hosted the world cinema premiere of “The Nine Lives Of Ozzy Osbourne.” The event, held on Birmingham’s largest screen, served as a fitting prelude to a monumental weekend for the city’s most legendary son, just hours before Ozzy Osbourne’s final concert, “Back to the Beginning,” at Villa Park.

Fans converged from across the globe for two packed screenings, eager to witness the unflinching portrait of the Prince of Darkness. The later showing was followed by an exclusive, sold-out Q&A session with Jack Osbourne, who features prominently in the documentary. Jack’s presence offered a deeply personal touch, as he shared insights into the making of the film and his father’s unparalleled journey from Aston’s working-class streets to global rock icon.

“Being able to share the theatrical debut of our film with fans who came from all corners of the world in Ozzy’s hometown of Birmingham was such an honor and privilege,” shared director Greg Johnston, who joined Jack on stage.

Abbie Vlahakis, CEO of Millennium Point, emphasized the venue’s pride in hosting such a significant occasion. “Being a part of this monumental occasion for this incredibly creative and talented city was an honour for us at Millennium Point. Ozzy is a global superstar, no doubt. But here in Birmingham, he is a local legend and someone the city holds dear.”

The premiere’s timing couldn’t have been more poignant, preceding Ozzy’s historic farewell performance. That final show saw a reunion of Black Sabbath’s original members and featured an incredible lineup including Pantera, Slayer, Metallica, and Guns N’ Roses, curated by Tom Morello.

Beyond the celebration, the premiere left a lasting legacy: proceeds are being donated equally to Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorns Children’s Hospice, ensuring that the spirit of giving matched the scale of the rock legend’s homecoming.
