Leeds United will attempt to get a deal over the line for Hoffenheim’s Anton Stach this summer.
Daniel Farke has already welcomed four new signings through the doors at Elland Road in recent weeks, but the German will hope more can follow.
Lukas Nmecha, Sebastiaan Bornauw and Jaka Bijol arrived earlier in the window, with Leeds announcing the signing of Swedish full-back Gabriel Gudmundsson on Tuesday (July 8).
Further links have followed, with the Whites hoping to further bolster Farke’s options ahead of the season opener next month.

The Leeds midfield is in need of reinforcements following the departure of Joe Rothwell, who has signed for Rangers.
A move for Strasbourg midfielder Habib Diarra was mooted, but the Senegal international has since signed for Sunderland.
And the Black Cats also beat Leeds to the signing of Noah Sadiki, who said he was subject to an offer from the West Yorkshire club, but ultimately decided to sign for Sunderland.
Decision-makers at Elland Road have now reportedly turned to Hoffenheim midfielder Stach.
Stats via FBref
According to BILD (July 9), the Bundesliga club would like to keep the 26-year-old, but would be willing to sanction the player’s sale if an appropriate offer arrives.
That fee would have to succeed around £17million, with Stach a key man for Hoffenheim.
Largely playing in the deepest midfield role, but deputising in the centre of defence, the German impressed in the Bundesliga last season.
A tall but deceptively speedy midfielder, Stach has already made his debut for the German national team and can sometimes be spotted on lung-busting drives forward.
Leeds must add power in midfield
Stach could be exactly what is needed in the Leeds midfield ahead of a return to Premier League football.
The tough-tackling German would serve as a shield to cover Farke’s defence, when it inevitably faces waves of attacks from the Premier League’s high-level opposing attackers.
Leeds have enjoyed a positive start to the window but cannot afford to waste time.
With pre-season rapidly approaching, a bedding-in period will be vital for any new signing as they prepare for England, and arguably Europe’s, toughest league.
