Dubai-based kingpin Steven Lyons is believed to have spent thousands of pounds on cosmetic surgery to change his appearance, as he was pictured for the first time in a decadeSteven Lyons has been pictured for the first time in years
Exiled crime lord Steven Lyons has splashed out thousands of pounds altering his looks.
Recent snaps reveal that the gangster, currently laying low in Dubai, has undergone fillers, botox and dental procedures. The first photos of Steven, 44, in over a decade also feature his murdered best mate Ross Monaghan while they were at a festive Dubai party in December.
In 2006, the head honcho of the Lyons crime gang fled from Scotland to Spain after being shot twice. He later relocated to Dubai where he has maintained control over the gang’s drug operations.
An insider told the Daily Record : “Steven has raked in millions since he bolted from Scotland, albeit he recently lost a couple of large consignments. So splurging on extensive cosmetic work is no big deal.
“His cheeks have very noticeably been pumped full of filler. He’s had regular Botox on his forehead and around his eyes. And his teeth would give Katie Price’s a run for their money.”
Steven Lyons has spent thousands changing his appearance
A single session of cheek fillers can set you back around £1000 in the UAE and forehead botox is about £200 per go. The treatment needs to be topped up every six months to keep up the appearance.
Dental work can cost thousands of pounds depending on the type of treatment.
In one of the new images, he is seen standing awkwardly with two associates. He seems to be guarding his leg which was shot during an assassination attempt in 2006.
The source revealed: “Steven’s leg has not been the same since he was shot. It was broken and he was in plaster for 12 weeks. He struggles to walk comfortably and has to go down stairs in a weird way.”
In another photo, he is seen beaming with joy as he leans over a friend for a selfie. The same friend, wearing a £1300 Louis Vuitton sweatshirt, also poses in another picture with a smiling Monaghan.
Steven did not attend the funeral of Monaghan, 43, and his brother Eddie Lyons Jnr last week due to concerns that he would be targeted by hitmen. The pair were shot outside Monaghan’s bar in the Costa del Sol amidst a recent gangland feud orchestrated by Dubai-based ex-Rangers ultra Ross McGill, 31.
The feud was sparked in March after an associate of jailed Edinburgh drugs kingpin Mark Richardson ripped him off in a £500,000 cocaine deal. It has resulted in pals of Richardson and the Daniels crime clan being targeted by firebombings and violent attacks – assisted by Lyons associates.
Last week, the Record reported that a warning was issued stating that anyone attending the joint funeral of Monaghan and Lyons Jnr, 46, would automatically become a target.
Spanish police suspect Michael Riley, 44, from Merseyside, was responsible for the double shooting in Fuengirola on 31 May. They’re seeking his extradition for trial after he fled back to the UK before being nicked.
The Lyons and Daniel families have been locked in a violent feud for nearly 25 years.
The infamous shooting at Applerow Motors garage in Glasgow’s Lambhill 19 years ago also saw Steven shot in the back. His cousin Michael Lyons, 21, was killed while mate Robert “Piggy” Pickett, now 60, was left wounded.
Daniel crime family heavies James McDonald, 52, and Raymond Anderson, 61, were banged up for a minimum of 30 years for the attacks in 2008.
