If only they knew (Picture: ITV)
Since the villagers found out that Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) had been murdered and left to rot at the bottom of the lake, the finger of blame has been pointed towards both Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) and Tracy Shankley (Amy Walsh).
The evidence has stacked up against both – Cain for beating his son and disowning him on the day he died, Tracy for the discovery of Nate’s phone in her house, her using his credit card, and generally just looking shifty as heck.
But a new bit of evidence comes to light that all but seals the deal for one of them, even though we all know that have-a-go-hero John is the real killer.
On the day of the memorial and still barred from attending, Cain slates Tracy of robbing him of his final goodbye. Caleb Miligan (William Ash) tries to get his brother to relax but just as he does so, Nate’s mum arrives in time to see Cain seemingly enjoying himself on the day she’s to bury her son.

While this is bad news for Cain, there’s more to come his way.
He stumbles upon the most convincing argument and most damning evidence yet that Tracy killed her husband – Sam (James Hooton) reveals that Tracy is set to get Nate’s full life insurance payout.
It’s a tried and tested motive, and hard-up Tracy certainly fits the bill. Cain throws this new information and accusation in Tracy’s face, and now even more convinced she’s the killer, he tells her there’s no way she’s stopping him attending his own son’s funeral.

While Cain doesn’t usually make Tracy fearful, seeing DS Walsh arrive at the church, followed by the entire Dingle posse, is enough to put her on edge.
Tracy is so perturbed she’s unable to go ahead with the eulogy and John (Oliver Farnworth) is forced to take over, which appears to be more guilty behaviour.
Is Tracy slowly but surely sealing her own fate of a false imprisonment for a crime she didn’t commit?
