The Greek chef, Diane Kochilas, once said, “Greek food is not about complexity, but about a perfect balance of ingredients.” Promising a fine dining experience that celebrates the perfect harmony of sea and land, Cylla aims to do just that with a blend of authentic Greek cuisine and contemporary gastronomy.

Inspired by the legendary Greek sea monster Scylla, the brand new restaurant—opening at Bruntwood SciTech’s Cornwall Buildings on Newhall Street (and replacing the former All Bar One)—will serve as a sophisticated approach to Mediterranean dining, alongside the warmth of Greek hospitality. And it’s opening next week (Monday, July 14).

You can expect timeless classics like Lamb Kleftiko, Beef Stifado, Moussaka, Greek salad, Tzatziki, and fresh homemade pitta bread. Plus, a diverse selection of premium Greek wines. Or why not opt for a Mediterranean-inspired cocktail, featuring ingredients like mastiha, or a traditional Greek spirit, like ouzo?

“We want to deliver a really unique experience to our guests, which transports them to the shores of the Greek Islands,” said Adonis Maniadakis, General Manager of Cylla. “Cylla is an elevated take on traditional Greek cuisine – we’ve created a touch of glamour whilst retaining the authentic flavours and warmth of Greek hospitality.”

Inside, the restaurant’s design features subtle references to Greek architecture, while also finding room for a six-metre bespoke bar, ambient lighting, and art inspired by the islands. Even the plates have been custom-designed to enhance the lively and luxurious Greek vibes of the restaurant.

“Cylla makes a fantastic addition to the historical Cornwall Buildings, a space steeped in heritage and charm, as well as being a real coup for Birmingham’s culinary scene,” said Matt Pazos, Retail Commercial Manager for Bruntwood SciTech. “We look forward to seeing Cylla make its mark in the bustling Colmore Business District over the coming months with its innovative approach to fine dining.”

Cylla will be open on Monday, July 14, offering lunch and dinner seven days a week, and you can make a booking here.
