Taylor Fritz continues to really impress on grass, with the American now into the semi-finals of Wimbledon.

Fritz meets Carlos Alcaraz at Wimbledon, with the latter having won each of the last two titles at the All England Club.

Tommy Paul has praised Fritz’s ability on grass, a surface on which he has clinched both of his titles this season.

Shortly before his current Wimbledon run, Fritz lifted the trophies at Stuttgart and Eastbourne, and is now into double figures for ATP Tour titles.

And he’s now into a first semi-final at SW19, where tennis legend Roger Federer boasts the record for the most titles.

The Swiss icon has triumphed at Wimbledon on eight occasions, and has featured in Fritz’s perfect tennis player, as per TNT Sports.

He picked John Isner’s serve, Juan Martin del Potro’s forehand, Gael Monfils’ footwork and Rafael Nadal’s mental strength.

Federer meanwhile was chosen for his volley, while current Wimbledon quarter-finalist Novak Djokovic was picked for both his return and his backhand.

Fritz has certainly picked a deadly player from a long list of legends, and it is hard to argue against his selections.

The American will now have plans to emulate their efforts on the court as he chases a maiden Grand Slam title.

And he can take great confidence from his displays on grass this season and indeed throughout his career.

Moreover, he has now become the only active American to make the semi-finals or better at a non-hard court Grand Slam.

Ben Shelton can, of course, join him in achieving that feat, with Jannik Sinner standing in his way of a Wimbledon semi-final.

A very tricky task now also awaits ATP number five Fritz, with his next opponent Alcaraz also a huge talent on grass.
