With Leeds United adding to their squad, there could be difficulty balancing out PSR this summer.

Four signings have been welcomed at Elland Road, with the 49ers spending wisely after just over £30m spent.

Gabriel Gudmundsson’s £10m move seems to be an exciting one, with Angel Gomes being a fan of the Swede.

He’s set to be the perfect replacement for the outgoing Junior Firpo, who was seemingly irreplaceable after last season’s performances.

But with additions like this, PSR will take a hit, with selling players having to come into the frame, and there appears to be a problem at Leeds.

It’s become clear that Jack Harrison is a ‘problem’ for Leeds.

The 28-year-old has found himself in a situation where Leeds may not want to keep him, but interested clubs may feel a transfer fee isn’t worth it.

Everton remains the candidate trying to pursue a move for the winger, as the club is ‘toying’ with a potential transfer for Harrison despite an underwhelming loan spell.

Nevertheless, David Moyes is keen to explore the possibility of bringing him back, and what journalist Adam Pope is hearing about Harrison certainly wasn’t expected.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Pope outlined the ‘PSR implications’ Leeds have with Everton’s demand.

“My understanding is that Everton would be interested in taking him on a free transfer, but the implications of cutting a deal or paying up Harrison’s contract would have PSR implications for Leeds,” Pope said.

“(Leeds) are carefully navigating through the financial parameters while bolstering their squad for the new season.”

Leeds will have to give Harrison a chance this season

It’s unlikely the 49ers will take Everton up on this offer, with them looking to continue their sensible approach to the window.

Harrison’s future is being discussed with this situation no doubt playing on the minds of the owners.

But, with excessive wages, and the possibility of the Toffees buying out his contract having an effect on PSR, it’s clear Daniel Farke will just have to give him a chance.

This won’t be the worst idea in the world, as despite his dismal form, he has shown very promising signs in Yorkshire.

It’s clear this saga could go up until the deadline, but with the winger once again getting settled back in at Thorp Arch, the 49ers must give Harrison a chance this season, otherwise their whole strategy goes out the window.
