Manchester United have been handed an update on Atalanta midfielder Ederson. Recent reports from GOAL Brazil claimed that the Brazilian is once again drawing interest from United’s hierarchy, who have made enquiries about the 26-year-old’s availability this summer.

However, the Reds are not alone in their pursuit, with both Inter Milan and Juventus also said to be monitoring the situation. The report adds that Atalanta will demand a fee in the region of €60million (£51.6m) for Ederson during the summer transfer window and appear more open to selling him than in previous years.

United were rumoured to be among several clubs interested in him last summer, alongside Premier League rivals Chelsea and Newcastle. But the Serie A club were unwilling to sanction a move at the time.

And amid fresh rumours that Ederson is attracting interest from Old Trafford, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has provided the latest in his newsletter for GiveMeSport. He claims that focus is currently on wrapping up a deal for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo.

“He’s appreciated but he’s also very expensive, so the situation is quiet at the moment,” he said. “Man United focus is on Mbeumo.”

The player himself has recently insisted that he is happy to stay in Italy.

“I am very happy at Atalanta. I just won a great title, I am very well-integrated,” Ederson told Spanish newspaper Diario AS.

“My future is something that doesn’t worry me. What worries me right now is doing well here with the Brazilian team, leaving a positive impression because it is my first call-up.

“Making sure everyone knows me here just like everyone knows me in Italy. I am very focused, very happy, trying to make the most of this moment with the national team.”
