A BODY has been found at a Glasgow landmark during a frantic search for a missing woman.

Police raced to the Necropolis in the city’s Castle Street at around 8.45pm last night.

The alarm was raised after a woman’s body was found within the Victorian cemetery.

The woman had been reported missing from Dunoon earlier on yesterday evening.

The Necropolis is located in Glasgow‘s east end and is a popular walking route.

Several pictures from the scene last night show the cemetery sealed off by cops.

A number of officers and police vehicles were also spotted around the site.

Cops believe there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.45pm on Wednesday, 9 July 2025, the body of a woman was found within the Glasgow Necropolis, Castle Street, Glasgow. 

“The woman had been reported missing from Dunoon earlier that same evening.

“There would appear to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
