Aston Villa have looked at the flash nature of the Birmingham City owners with no jealousy for many months.

There is no doubt that the Blues have been superb in the past 12 months, with their performances on the pitch resulting in a record League One title win.

This positivity has only continued this summer with big-name signings like Kyogo Furuhashi, Demarai Gray and Tommy Doyle.

It does now feel as if promotion from the Championship could soon be possible, something which can only be looked upon favourably from the wider football world.

With that being said, the reveal of a documentary has certainly caught the eye of those at Villa Park, with the name being questionable to many.

There has been no shortage of embarrassing moments across the second city that the Villans have been able to poke fun at.

It is fair to say that co-owner Tom Wagner’s bizarre speech at Wembley after the defeat to Peterborough United took the top spot for ridicule.

Although Villa embarrassed themselves further by losing 3-0 against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup, the claret and blue faithful had their fun while they could.

Many believed that this strange moment from the American financier pointed towards a documentary being filmed, as cameras looked upon his rant.

This has proven to be the case with Amazon Prime Video now revealing an initial trailer for the show, which is set to drop on 1 August.

Many Villa fans would like to see a similar-style programme for their side, although the name of the Birmingham version has certainly caught the eye for the wrong reasons.

Titling a documentary about a side who has just won a league title in record fashion ‘Built In Birmingham: Brady and The Blues’ feels disrespectful to the team itself and their achievements.

This appears to be more of a vanity show once again for the American owners and Brady, who are using Blues as a vehicle for their own success in the UK.

Aston Villa fans baffled by Birmingham City documentary title

It would be totally bizarre for Villa to showcase the inner workings of the club, but with the title featuring either Nassef Sawiris or Wes Edens.

This duo work quietly in the background and allows for success on the pitch, while also improving the general look and facilities of the Villans.

This has certainly been showcased under Unai Emery and will hopefully continue for many years under the Spaniard’s tutelage.

It is fair to say that Birmingham City will be keen to replicate Villa’s success of being promoted from the Championship and reaching the Champions League within five years.

With the signings they are making, that could be entirely possible, but the ever-present focus on Brady and Wagner could become damaging to the club as a whole at some stage.

The title of the documentary is just the latest in a long line of questionable actions from the American icon, something which Villa fans just can’t get their head around.

You can only laugh.
