'We're Just Getting Started': Sony Marks 15 Years of PS Plus with Future Pledge 1Image: Push Square

Sony’s released a somewhat soppy trailer to celebrate 15 years of PS Plus.

The platform holder’s subscription first launched on the PS3, and has gone through a string of reinventions since then.

Its current guise sees the service divided into three tiers, with PS Plus Essential offering basic online play and monthly games, while PS Plus Extra offers an on-demand catalogue of PS5 and PS4 titles, and PS Plus Premium bundles in cloud streaming and retro games.

While the trailer mostly serves as a recap, it ends with a pledge: “We’re just getting started.”

The platform holder has reiterated in multiple interviews that it’s always looking to improve the value of PS Plus and entice new players to subscribe. As one of its biggest revenue drivers, the onus is on the organisation to keep adding new features and incentives.

But where would you like the service to move in the future? What are some of the features or improvements you’re desperate to see added? And how can the platform holder continue to justify the subscription’s relatively high price?

Feedback to the latest PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium lineup has been largely positive, with the addition of games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Twisted Metal 4 mostly well-received by fans. But how can the manufacturer maintain this momentum? Let us know below.
